The offline field pack
Signal dies exactly where you need this site: the bottom of a draw at last light, a camp two ridges in, a walk-in unit with one bar that will not load a page. So take it with you. One tap saves 26 pages onto your phone - the ones you actually open in the field - and after that they load with the aeroplane mode on. No account, no app store, nothing sent anywhere.
Put it on your home screen too
The pack works in the browser on its own, but on the home screen it opens like an app, full screen, straight onto this page. On Android: the browser menu offers "Install app" or "Add to home screen". On iPhone: tap Share, then "Add to Home Screen" - Safari only, and it needs iOS 16.4 or newer to keep the offline pack. Download the pack before you lose signal, obviously - and while you are on wi-fi, because it is a few megabytes.

What this does not do
- It is not the whole site. Huntervale is around 1,500 pages; this is 26. Everything else needs signal, and a page you open offline that is not in the pack will say so rather than spin.
- Photos may be missing. The download takes each page's text, tables, diagrams and styling. Big galleries are skipped on purpose - the pack is meant to fit in a pocket, not fill your phone.
- Your browser can throw it away. Phone operating systems clear website storage when space runs low, and a private window keeps nothing. If a trip matters, open this page on wi-fi the night before and check it still says the pack is ready.
- Tools that need live data will not work. Today's conditions and anything weather-driven needs the network; the dope card, freezer tracker and trapline manager keep their data on your device and work fine.
- Nothing is cached without your tap. Reading the site normally downloads no pack at all. That is deliberate: mobile data is expensive where this site gets read.
Field-craft guidance from hunters, not a substitute for your own judgement or your jurisdiction's rules - seasons, legal light, calibre minimums and transport law are set by your wildlife agency, and they change. The offline copy is a snapshot from the day you downloaded it: when you are back on signal, open the pages again and the pack updates itself in the background.
