Ready for the pack-out?
The shot is the easy part - getting the meat out clean and cold is the work. Pick your trip and get a printable checklist so nothing gets left behind, from tags and game bags to keeping the meat cool on the way home.
The golden rule of the pack-out: keep it clean, cool and dry. Get the hide off and the meat into breathable game bags, keep it out of the sun and off the wet ground, and get it cold as fast as you can. Check your local regulations - many require evidence of sex or species to stay attached.
