The same sleek bullets leave at 2,950+ fps, flattening drops and stretching the honest energy envelope - at the cost of more powder, more recoil and shorter barrel life.

What it is

A short-magnum-class case driving 130-147gr 6.5 bullets ~2,950-3,000 fps - the 'Creedmoor, faster' concept executed cleanly.

What it hunts best

Open-country mule deer, antelope at distance, and elk with substantially more comfort than the Creedmoor - the mountain-hunter's modern 6.5. Overkill for a 100-yard whitetail woodlot, by design.

Trajectory & energy

A 143gr at 2,960 zeroed at 200: ~6" low at 300, ~17" at 400 - and ~1,800 ft-lb still aboard at 400, real elk energy at range. Wind numbers class-leading.

Recoil & shootability

~17-19 ft-lb - .30-06-adjacent, manageable in a well-stocked rifle, no longer 'soft'. Muzzle devices are common companions.

Rifles & ammo on the shelf

Strong modern support (most makers chamber it); ammo availability good in normal times, premium-priced always. Barrel life runs shorter than standard cartridges - a known tax.

Bottom line

The step-up for Western hunters who liked everything about the Creedmoor except the last 150 yards of elk authority. Woodlot hunters don't need the bill.
